Looking for sites near Pigeon Forge

Traveling from Chatanooga today. Looking for GREAT site near Pigeon Forge. Looking to camp in the mountains. We are in a 40' rv and can boondock if the site is right. Any feedback?

Semper Fi,
MC

We have stayed at a few in Townsend that might fit your needs. And there are some on Wears Valley Rd that I have heard good things about, but never stayed at.

Anchor Down RV Resort is very nice, not really in the mountains, but it has a great view of them and a huge lake.

Koa in pigeon forge is nice and convenient. I would get the premium site.

We stayed at the koa in Townsend. It had tight sites, but it is right next to the river and close to Cades cove. Pigeon forge looks like the Vegas strip and the KOA there is right off the main road. Depends on what you are looking for. Personally, I prefer a little more of the mountains and wilderness.
