Looking for the "perfect" RV park in the Smokeys

Next year we are planning on spending the summer at one park in the Smokey/Blue Ridge Mountain area. On our way back to FL this fall we will be spending about a month looking around the VA/TN/NC area. We would like a park that offers activities such as a pool/bingo/dinners/dances/ shuffle board etc. We also would like to be on or near a lake and within 10 miles of so of a Grocery Store/Walmart/Restaurants/Medical Center etc. Does anybody have suggestions?
Thanks

Look at KOA and Goodsam sites for locations and under each campground will be what's in the area.

I would use RV PARK REVIEWS.COM. Find the city and state that you will want to resided in and than look at all of the campgrounds listed in that area. The RV PARK REVIEWS provides reviews of campgrounds by other campers and for the most part they tell it like it is.

I have found some wonderful campgrounds this way. We stated in the ASHEVILLE NC area staying at a COE park with full hook-ups, but this is not what you are looking for. You can than click on the website link to the campground to see what is offered in the form of recreation and things to do.

Which coe park are you referring too? We will be in the Asheville area by middle of June to look around and a coe park would be perfect for this.
Thanks

The COE park was Lake Powhatan recreation area. If you have the senior pass the fees are 1/2 for camping.

I already tried that park, no availability for our size MH during the time frame I was looking for. It does look like a very nice park. Thanks for your help.

We recently stayed at Stonebridge RV park in Maggie Valley NC. Lots of seasonal RV'ers but plenty of space. Enjoyed it a lot and much to see and do within easy driving distance. Very nice with full hookups.

I believe COE parks don't typically offer the activities you are looking for.

I also am searching for the perfect park .
It should be near a discount Hooters , next door to a beer joint , maybe near a waterfall where ice cubes flow free ,in the mountains so its cool but not so high that I cain't walk around ! Less than $150 per month rent .
Free cable and WiFi would be expected , level sites with a view of the Grand Canyon and Statute of Liberty will seal the deal !

Try pride rv resort in the Maggie Valley area. We are investigating them as a possible location for a future rally. They have a lot of the amenities you mention wanting. Looks like food lion is 12 min, Wal-Mart super center is just under 20 min.

RV park

We stay in a beautiful RV park near Waynesville, NC called Creekwood Farm Rv park, it is off of I-40 in NC just over the Tennessee line at exit 20. Very close to the quaint town of Waynesville and Maggie Valley. The park has potlucks, bingo and other activities. It is a very well kept park, with spotless bathrooms... and lots to do in the area. They have large pull thru sites and also creekside sites, with a dog play area. All have water, sewer and electric, picnic tables, cable, laundry, wifi. They are close to Asheville, the farmers market in Asheville, lots of shopping and great resturants.

The Walmart is not far, about 15 minutes in Waynesville, has a great Rv section, there is also a food lion and an Ingles in Waynesville.

Anchor Down RV resort in Dandridge Tenn. Nice park on the lake(Douglas Lake), nice pool, one of the cleanest parks we ever stayed at. Grocery store & Wal Mart not too far away.

I just booked Mama Gertie's for the end of September. No problems, left a message and got a call back within an hour.

Got my campsite and tickets for Overland Expo East.

I have not found the "perfect" Smokies commercial RV park, but Smoky Bear Campground on the East Parkway towards the Cosby/Greenbrier area of the park is my favorite. Great mix of scenery and amenities. Really nice owner/operators too. 10 minutes to Gatlinburg. Decent I-40 access too.
