My wife and I are going here in August. Besides the lighthouses and beaches, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

What do you like to do? Charter fishing is big there. Sand dunes both South and North. Hiking on the North Country Trail through the Indian reservation. Not my cup of tea, but casino in Manistee.

We just got back from a week there! We had great weather, a lot of fun with tubing down the river but the camp sites in the park are way to close!!! They are practically on top of each other but the rangers do a great job in keeping it quiet at night.
We did do some fishing too. We had a good time but we don't think we'll be going back. But that just our opinion. I hope you have a good time!

Just passed through the area and stayed at a private park near Empire at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore. Well worth the trip for the Dunes Climb, Scenic Drive, and D.H. Day Historic Village in Glen Haven with a side trip to Glen Arbor for food and souvenir shopping. Same 7 day car pass covers all 3 spots in the park and it is only $10. There are also several free hiking trails if you are so inclined. Old Guys

Yes! We were at Sleeping Bear Dunes in June. We did nit climb down the huge dune as, per the sign, I didn't want to risk a fine if I couldn't get back up!!
