We stayed at the Luray KOA which is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at.

we love the Yogi park. Even when the teenagers stay home we enjoy it there. Great location. Beautiful views.

We stayed at the Jellystone when we went a couple of years ago. With that being said, we have two DD's who were 9 and 6 at the time! We all loved it.

Outlanders was nice, no shade but easy access and a nice view of the mountains.
Less than 10 miles from the entrance of Sky line drive and minutes from the caverns.
I watched the owners go out of there way to help my neighbor with a damaged trailer from a blow out on a Sunday.

If you are into State Parks, check out Shenandoah River State Park, about 1/2 way between Luray and Front Royal. Shenandoah River State Park

I hear Endless Caverns Campground is really nice, and is only about 15 miles from Luray, although you have to cross the Massanutten Mountains: Endless Caverns Recreation Destination - HOME

If you want to max out on caverns, Grand Caverns in Grottoes is highly rated. And there is also Skyline Caverns near Front Royal, and Shenandoah Caverns in Quicksburg, all within about a 50 mile radius.

And then there are other things to see and do, like the Skyline Drive, Shenandoah River, civil war battlefields, etc. Can ya tell I like that area...........especially since I am a native.
