We were at Mammoth in May of this year. If you are there just to visit the caves, Cave Country RV in Cave City is just 5 miles from the NP. Very clean shower/rest rooms, nothing scenic, just convenient. There is a super Walmart on the outskirts of Glasgow, a short drive if needing groceries.

We've made reservations for a site at Nolin Lake State Park for 5 nights. Thanks everyone for the information!! What route would be the best coming from Interstate 65 Southbound to the park?

IMHO.. 65 south to west on Wendell h ford western ky parkway - 259 south -728 east(nolin danm rd) - Brier creek rd to the park.
I went home that way...
Im a flat lander from Il. and handle that way no problem. You being from PA are probably used to all the hills.

Have fun its a great place and beautiful country

Any chance that anyone has stayed at Diamond Caverns, the Outdoor World/Thousand Trails park?

I think we're going to spend a week there.

Have you looked at reviews of this campground? I know nothing of this CG but from what I read it doesn't sound too good, main theme seems to be that it is in need of updating.

When are you planning your stay? I plan on being in the area the middle of July and I can check it out and report.

That's kind of status quo for Thousand Trails parks, unfortunately. There are a few gems and a lot of ho-hum. The price is right (by that point, I'll be looking at $3/night).
