Not from Maryland, but we're going to Hanna Park in Jacksonville. 300 full hookup sites on the beach near the mouth of the St. John's river, next to Mayport N.A.S. Really nice campground, and we are bringing bikes. Randy

it's a sore subject with me, we just got our TT, and didn't have plans made in time. Everything local is booked up!! But we are leaving June 6th for the Smokies, so I guess that will make up for it!!

Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day we just stay home.
It's just too crowded. Some folks that's the only time they can get out so they can have my spot.
Besides, on 4th of July the whole family comes over to my backyard and eats my beer brats! Such fun!

We decided not to travel in So Cal during the busy Memorial Weekend. We are going to the KOA AVI in Nevada next weekend on the Colorado River. It sure is hot out here right now. The river should feel great and we can drive to Laughlin fun some fun too.

My sentiments exactly. I was lucky for much of my career to have nearly
"on demand" vacation. We often took our boat to the lake either
the week/weekend before or after a major holiday weekend.
It was often wonderfully quiet.
Same thing now that we've traded the water for the woods.
Now that I'm RETIRED every day is a weekend!!!
Weather forecast isn't the greatest for us this weekend but we
might be able to sneak in a day trip on our motorcycle and maybe
a picnic at a local forest/arboretum.
If all else fails we've got a covered deck and a backyard full of
flower gardens that are mostly in bloom.
Life is GOOD!

Honoring the 'Day
Didn't get any reservations in time.
So, we will spend Memorial Day with the US Marine Corps at Quantico National Cemetery, honoring our fallen comrades.
God bless them.

We have a seasonal site in Louisa, VA. However, we sometimes avoid the major weekends because it just gets too crazy with once a year camping partiers, out of control children, barking dogs, etc. Not yet sure what we will do this year.

Staying home and cooking on the grille.
My daughter and her husband are temporarily living in our motorhome. They settle on their house on May 27th and their lease was up at their old apartment on April 27th so we offered the motorhome. We'll probably hit the road in early June. In the meantime everyone have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
Charlie also!!!!!!

Well Papa Roo, we'll be staying in our home state of FL in a little town on the west coast called Cedar Key. But, we have a big trip planned to Williamsburg and DC starting on July 1st and ending around July 15th or 16th. The reason I mention that is because I have read some horror stories about towing an rv near the DC area, so if you have any suggestions, since you are from that area, I would really appreciate it. I'm mainly worried about the trip from Williamsburg to Cherry Hill RV park in MD. I hope everybody has a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.

No matter which way you travel on the Capital Beltway (495 / 95 ) it's best to avoid rush hour traffic. It can be a parking lot at times. I'd take the inner loop toward Dulles Airport to avoid the construction near the Woodrow Wilson bridge. You especially want to avoid using 395 through DC. Follow 495 around until you reach Route 1 at College Park MD. Cherry Hill Park is close to this exit. CHP is really a nice place. They run shuttles into DC, this is the best way to get there without dealing with the traffic and trying to find parking. Have a great time and be safe.

I hope each and every one has a great memorial day weekend. Be safe. We are staying local and heading for the nice small local campground on the Ohio river. Should be great. We will be taking the boat along also. We only take it in the area of the campground due to all the alcohol flowing in the blood of some of the boat drivers. Plan to grill out and fish all weekend. Should be great.
