Just got back from a trip from Calgary, east around the Great Lakes and home again. We really enjoyed the UP, and the thumb!

When your coming up I'm easy to find. Right on US41 a mile south of Chassell. I've got 4 acres to park down here or 100 feet on Lake Superior 45 minutes from me with two RV hook ups.

Had to have an escort across the Mackinac Bridge because of high winds that was kind of scary.

It's usually the last week in September thru the first week in October. I usually watch for updates on the internet. At least it has for the last two years. Check this site; Fall - Pure Michigan Travel . Or just google Michigan fall colors for other sites.

mackanaw

If you go anywhere near Mackanaw Island, it is well worth the boat ride to visit it. The lunch buffet at the Grand Hotel is a little expensive but well worth the money.

The fall colors in the U.P. start about mid-September inland and run thru the first week of October along the shore line. Example: you will see fall colors peak in the center of the Keweenaw and the shoreline will peak days later. We know fall is coming already because there are some trees turning red already (just a couple). It's hard to say when it will peak and how long. I've seen the second week peak colors and in two days the wind will blow and strip all the leaves down to the ground. The best safe bet is the end of September.
