There is a Titanic exhibit/experience there,,,,well worth the time and $$ for a couple of hours.
Also enjoy some cider/pies etc. at the Apple Barn Cider Mill & General Store.

We usually stay at the Mountaineer CG in Townsend, but also have a timeshare in Sevierville. Love the area! We are hikers and this is a wonderful place to hike. There are two nice hikes off of Roaring Forks - Grotto Falls and Baskins Falls. Laurel Falls trail is nice. It's near the Sugarlands Visitor Center...a busy trail, tho. Spruce Flats Falls is a beautiful hike by the Tremont institute and usually is not busy. Have been the only ones on the trail in the past. And, of course, Cade's Cove. We try to be in line when the gate is opened at sunrise.
Clingmans Dome is a fun walk and Newfound Gap has beautiful views. Can also hike part of the AT from the Gap area.
For shopping, I like to do the Arts and Crafts Loop and the gift shops at the Apple Farm. We like to eat at the Apple Farm, but like the lunch menu more than the dinner menu. If you have a rainy day, Smoky Mountain Knifeworks store is a good place to spend a couple of hours. So much more than just knifes. The Diner close by is good. We found the Old Mill to be very good. We don't do the touristy stuff, we are there for the mountains and the National Park.

The Island. Its a new shopping, dining entertainment area off of the main drag in Pigeon Forge. Dining options include Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, Paula Deans, Dicks Last Resort. Timberwood Grill,etc..there are multiple small shops and a water fountain water choteographed to music. There is usually live Blugrass Music outside of the Smokey Mtn moonshine store....oh yeay...they have free samples. Add on the other suggestions and you have lots of choices

X2 on the Titanic experience reservations were a must, pricey but enjoyable ...... Tour guides are in period dress down to the type of tie......

personally I also enjoy going to Smoky Mountain Knife Works

The area is often called the Myrtle Beach of the Smokies just no ocean.

X2. I lived in Pigeon Forge for 2 years. Best thing I ever done was leave that Tourist Theiving Place. Be sure to take extra $$ and plan on paying at least double for everything you buy, including a hamburger.
