Need campground recommendation for Birmingham, AL or East on I-20?

I will be passing through the Birmingham, AL area on my way from Tupelo, MS to Atlanta on I-20 and need a campground recommendation. I would like to be in on the east side of Birmingham, Talladega, etc if possible. It is only for an overnight stop on my way home so it doesn't have to be a great destination, just clean, safe and quiet.

Also, does anyone know if you can park a truck and camper at the Barber Vintage Motorsports museum? Would love to stop and look around on my way through.

Thanks.

Ga. State park

should be one pretty close to where you are heading, check your rv campsite locations...Chehah is really nice, but is a little ways off the interstate.

Lakeside Landing is in Cropwell. No reservations needed unless race weekend.

For an overnite stop, we've used this before. http://www.cherokeecampground.info/ With a Good Sam, Passport America or a Vet, $15! No need to unhook. The reviews on RV Park Reviews are mixed. But for an overnite, it was perfect for us.

KOA in Oxford, AL. 20 minutes from Talledega. 5 minutes off I-20.

I'd also say the KOA in Oxford. Tupelo's not far from B'ham, and you probably need to get on down the road. That'll put you just over 1 hour from the edge of Atlanta.

The Oak Mountain State Park and KOA are close together, but they're probably 12 miles south of downtown B'ham.

I can tell you where to stay in Atlanta--Stone Mountain Park or Lake Lanier Islands outside Buford, GA. Both are absolutely beautiful, and facilities are great.
