New River Gorge, WV

Spent 3 days there last weekend. Had a great time at Adventures On The Gorge. Awesome rafting, zip lining, climbing, etc. Highly recommend! Stayed in a cabin, but, quite honestly, would have preferred being in our TT.

We looked at probably 5 or 6 campgrounds around the area, and just wasn't that impressed with the offerings.

Does anyone have any campground that they would recommend? Just didn't have enough time to do any more searching.

Thanks in advance.

We recently stayed at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine campground at the city of Beckley, about 35 miles south of the bridge.

Clean campground, reasonably priced, FHU, not a lot of frills or amenities, but the coal mine itself is well worth a tour and the reconstructed buildings from actual coal camps are really interesting. Easy drive to the New River Gorge and bridge.
