Depending on when this is my husband and I may be able to make it. New to camping and haven't camped in NJ yet, only PA.

Just for the record...It was originally sold as Taylor's Ham, but upon further analysis, the power's to be figured out that the stuff didn't quite resembled ham so they had to rename it as something more accurate to it's actual composition. Being from North Jersey, I can tell you that habits are hard to break so the original name endures.

Time to rename this posting referencing the pork roll vs Taylor ham dispute.

Exit 2er here too, can confirm, this is the correct way to eat your porkroll

Guessing we will be smelling a lot of Taylor Ham, errr, pork roll frying up in the morning when we all get together! I may have to steal some. Wife hates pork roll and won't buy it for me. (New Yorker!)

Taylor is the company name of one of the makers of it. The other company in NJ that makes pork roll is called Trenton.
And our favorite way is Taylor Ham and swiss with sauted onions with deli spicy brown mustard on a bagel.

I just went over to Turkey Swamp and checked out the campsites. It's tight. If you have an 8' wide trailer and/or long trailer, it will be tiiiight. The sites are all pull throughs but C shaped and most of them have trees tight on either side and are pretty short.

Has anyone been to Allaire State Park?

I guess that's when one of those portable dump tanks would be handy! The idea of backing a rig your size ANYWHERE give me cold sweats.

I have a 22 gallon barker tote, but so far I have only used it for grey water. I can get by for 4 days on my black tank,n but dump my grey every couple of days. I do like water and electricity at my sight though

Electric lights, electric pumps, it's the way of the future! Everything's gonna be put on electricity and run on a paying basis. Out with old spiritual mumbo-jumbo, the superstition and the backward ways. We're gonna see a brave new world where they run everyone a wire and hook us all up to the grid. Yessir, a veritable age of reason - like they had in France. And not a moment too soon...

Would you guys be okay with paying more for a campground or do you want to stick with state parks? It looks like there's two decent campgrounds (rec'd decent reviews online) near Turkey Swamp: Tip Tam and Indian Rock.

I'm okay with either. I'm fine with Turkey Swamp too but my trailer is tiny. I know that it may not be the best fit for everyone interested in going though.

I would be happier with a full hookup, but I can get away with water and elec. as long as I remember my portable tank.

We would need a site to accommodate a 36 foot motor home. Some of these old campgrounds are real tight to maneuver
