NORTH BEND PARK, VA - Kerr Reservoir

We're set to camp at site 172 in mid-April at North Bend Park. It's a COE and will be our first time there. Hoping to be a relaxing few days. Has anyone been there? Any tips, comments or warnings?

North Bend park has been a family favorite of ours since I was a kid your going to love it. In the spring the lake level is always high so the beach area maybe small when your there but no worries the site you picked has a fantastic lake view. Enjoy, I wish I could spend more time there.

Camped there a few times in the pup. Enjoyed it, had beautiful waterfront site everytime. +: nice beach for swimming, decent shoreline fishing, wooded, lake views. -: Bathrooms (some) are just huge portapots with no lights at night (bring a flashlight!), seems noisier than the nearby state park, water was cloudy and rusty, bur we only use park water for dishes and showers. Rating:8.5 of 10. Enjoy. You might like Occoneechee State Park just a few miles down the road for another nice trip.

We've camped there numerous times, in both C and D loops. Loop C is our favorite. Site #172 is a good one - you're gonna love the park and the lake. We like it particularly because we can let our dog swim, usually right from our site. Everyone has always been very friendly. The common name for the lake area is Buggs Island. And never fear running out of something - there is super Walmart right down the road in South Hill. Have a great time.
