Olive Branch Campground

Last week on Sunday Oct 7 we had a one night reservation at the Olive Branch campground just North of Cincinnati, Oh off of I-71. It was a brutally hot 91 degree day and we pulled in and signed up. Went to our spot and hooked up the shore power right away as it was 83 degrees in our TT. It came on and started cooling and soon it just stopped. After checking things out I found that my surge protector was shutting off power because of low voltage. I was only getting 104 to 105 volts and could not keep the AC running. The man at the desk was no help at all and he left the office soon after we arrived. The only choice we had was to pack up and go. Which we did. My question is shouldn't we get our money back? It was their problem not mine. The guy said that some people had just left that sight and had no problems. But that does not tell the whole story.

We have 30 amp, no 50 amp on our unit. I really did not notice if there was a 50 amp hook up.

If you get low voltage while running AC, make sure water heater and fridge is on propane only and try again. That might resolve the issue for the duration of your stay.

Many of us carry a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter so that we can try the 50 amp outlet if we are having electrical issues. The 50 amps tend to see less wear and tear and sometimes provide better service.

That is a great idea. After camping for many years at hundreds of campgrounds this is the first time for an event like this. But I am convinced that your idea is worth a try.
