Orlando Area Campground Recommendations

I'm planning a trip from MA to Orlando, FL and Universal Studios in February. Anyone have any good campground recommendations that are convenient to Universal Studios?

Lake Louisa state park in Clearmont, near Disney is nice, some full hook up site and not expensive.

If you're thousand trails members, the Orlando/Clermont location is decent. From Clermont, we figured a 40-60 minute drive to everything due to traffic.

I like Tropical Palms. It is a private park near Celebration... This time last year had deer and turkey walking through my site. Not as cheap as a state park, but they have more sites and they are close to everything Orlando and have themes on the weekends (just good 'ol fun things).

We are also going to Universal Studios but we are going in January. We are not camping this trip we are going to be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. It sounds like a good time!!!

Have a great time and enjoy your trip!!!

We have reservations for Orange Grove Campground in Kissimmee in January. It's about 6 miles from Disney. The rates were very reasonable and the people I spoke with were very helpful. We're hoping it lives up to our expectations.

We camp in Orlando often. If you are looking for a great campground, elec, water, no sewer, lake, giant sites, clean restrooms...... Moss park !! Costs under $20 a night (with senior discount). One of the nicest places I've stayed.

Yes, they have a dump station..... We will be heading down there for two weeks in mid-Janurary. I don't have a link, but go to Orange county parks,. Look up Moss park...... They have an odd reservation system. You make a reservation but, can't reserve a specific site. We always plan on arriving on a Wednesday when the place is EMPTY....... get the pick of all of the sites. Weekends they fill up.....

This is the most that I could find:
Moss Park

That page links to this for camping information:
Camping at Orange County Parks, pages 15-17

There does appear to be a dump station.
