I think you mean Otter Lake. Yes we stayed there last year for the first time and we have Labor Day weekend booked this year. Great campground with lots to do. There is a fun 20 minute drive on a windy road to the campground. Fire away with questions.

We've been a few times. The road up is twisty to say the least but not the worst. Depending on when you're going, the lakeside sites of course are hard to get.
We like it and plan on going back again. One local attraction are the Bushkill Falls. (Bring your hiking shoes.)
The picture below is site LF13. A little tight with trees but once you're in there plenty of room for the slides.

OK, now you guys got me worried. Kid asked wife and I to go up there in April. Going to be taking 42' toyhauler up that windy road. Do I have to pray no one comes the opposite direction. Campground said they only had a couple sites I'd fit on.

You'll be ok. Pace yourself and take it slow. It's a public 2 lane road but it is a little tight on a couple of the bends but you'll only be doing probably 15mph anyways. Plus the only traffic is local residents. If i remember right it's about 10 miles long. Check it out on Google Earth to get an idea.

Thanks. I used to go up to Orange County speedway that way but haven't been up in years. Looked at Google and everything at the Marshalls Creek exit is different from what I remember. Going late Friday afternoon so figure not much traffic.

It all depends on which way you come from. If you're coming in from the north, you will bottom out your rear end on your last turn before the campground and you will have a very tight, winding, road with trees close to the edges leaning over the road. You can see marks on every tree where an RV has hit it at least once. If you come from the south, you will be just fine. DO NOT COME IN FROM THE NORTH!

Otter Lake is a great campground.

Yeah we made that mistake once. That's all it took, I'll never come in from the north again and would never recommend it & either do they.

Funny....we drove north while we visited the campground (no trailer) and got lost. Darn GPS. That's why I hate those things.

The drive from the south is very pretty and nothing but trees. We have passed other campers coming the other direction and haven't had any problems. You just try to get over as far as you can.

I would highly recommend going. Great campground with lots to do. Like others said just take it slow on that road. You should be fine.

Would you be able to post directions to Otter lake coming from the south. I have done the north and your right snow bunny hill is bad.

See the campground's website for directions. Marshall creek road is the southern access point.

This is correct. Coming from Virginia, every GPS I've used wants to bring me in from the north, so I use the directions provided on their website.

One thing that's great about Otter Lake is that it is a good place to get a kid started and interested in fishing. There are smallmouth galore and lots of pike in the lake, plus all of the usual small panfish. Kids love fishing this lake. So do I.

Well, we made our first trip this weekend in the SNOW!!!! That ride up the hill with a 42' trailer was real interesting too. Really nice place. We hope to go back over the summer/ fall. During the snow on Saturday we even saw a guy in his boat out on the lake!!

That 7 mile road is quite the challenge, I am sure I made a few locals a little mad at how slow I was going!
