Last night they were calling for 4-8" in northern Illinois. We're lucky we if we got 1". Didn't even stick to my driveway.

I'm not trying to say to not be careful. I'm just really tired of the NWS overstating almost every storm we get.

We are in clarion county, calling for us to get 6-12 inches. That is ok with me, I stopped and got two 30 packs this afternoon. We have a son in Pennsburg, and he is expecting to get hammered with the snow.

I lived in PA much too long and happily moved south 14 years ago. Seeing that coming is a reminder why I left. If I ever get the urge to see snow again,, there is the Weather Channel!
Y'all be safe up there!

Seems the snow has stopped here in Delaware now but getting the sleet and rain on top of the snow that is on the ground can make for a very interesting day

That will make beautiful drifts on the highways! Stay safe up there,,,, It is ugly here ~~ but not that ugly. We had rain and temps in the low 40s. Cold compared to what it should be here ~~ but reminds me of why I left PA.

Located northeast of St. Johnsbury, VT ~started here just before 9Am, 2Pm now and have over 3" of very fine stuff & still falling. Calling for another 12" for us tonight and have tomorrow to look at. Normally travel without problems in this stuff (not towing), but this is going to be nasty! Hate these late season storms, always very wet snow fall and slick on back country roads!!

I imagine we were at the western edge of the storm. Depending on who you listened to, we were to get 5"-8" (Weather Channel) or 8"-12" (WJAC, Johnstown, PA). WJAC won - we got about 8"-10". Started about 10:30 last night and finished up around 10A.M. DW put the Jeep in 4X4 and headed off to work this morning - my work closed.
Yep, now comes the wind. But, the driveway is clear and the temp is above 32 degrees. Things should clear off fairly nicely.

The wind always blows in OBX. Usually easier on the Atlantic side than the sound side. You know OBX is one of the top rated areas by WINDsurfers nationally, right?

Yep, that's what we got here near Somerset, 8"-10"
Unfortunately it is now snowing hard and the winds are about 30 mph.
It's going to be tough sledding tonight.

Live near the border of (North-Central Region) PA. / NYS. Ten inches and still coming down with wind at 4:10pm. Took my wife, a Postmaster, to work early this morning (she hates driving in wind-blown snowy conditions). As soon as I got home there was a message on the phone from her. Ten minutes after she arrived at her office an email came stating all the region's Post Offices were being closed. Some more fun on the road to go get her, but I've seen much worst. Coincidentally is it's about 14 years, to the day, after the Blizzard of '93.
Next up: snow blowing the driveway when it stops snowing. Life in the good ol' Northeast.

Gettysburg sure didn't. A very wet 10" that at least won't drift in this wind. Better luck next year I guess.
