We are regulars at Yogi Bear Quarryville, they have a lot of great activities for the kids and the water park is really nice! It is about 20 mins south of the main Lancaster attractions.

Thanks everyone for the replies and recommendations. Once we get our choice narrowed down I may be back again with more questions.

My DW and I like Country Acres. Stay there often. Some RT. 30 highway noise but a very clean campground.

Si camper, there are many nice campgrounds in every area you are interested about. Could you tell us what your group is interested in doing or not doing while you are here in PA. Nightlife, Civil War, amusement parks, each area has specific campgrounds that would facilitate perhaps a much more enjoyable stay. Am from Hanover.

We're a 55 and over group that now have the time to do a little travelling and just enjoy seeing what we can see. From the SE part of PA I anticipate day trips that would take in Civil War History, Amish communities, possibly Washington DC, and whatever local sites that peek our interest. We also enjoy sampling the local food fare and wine trails. We try not to have too much of an itinerary.

We don't have to have a resort campground. we prefer having full hook-ups or at least a site that has a pump-out service. Our evenings, night, and breakfast will be about the only time we are at our camp site.

SI camper, you may want to check out Warwick Woods, (Chester County) in that case. A few FHU, they do have a honey wagon. The only draw back is it is only 30 amps, but VERY well shaded. It is also a Passport America campground. Close to French Creek State park, Hopewell Village Nat Park, St. Peters Village, Valley Forge. Lancaster County not far either.

You might also want to check out Pinch Pond near Manheim Pa. a little farther out but near the turnpike so location might work better for the day trips, but can be noisy near the pike and also a gun range. For good BBQ try Devine Swine right on Rt. 72

We tried to get into Country Acres but the wedding is Memorial Day weekend and they were booked. We got a reservation at Old Mill, Thanks for the info

I live in York and go to Gettysburg all of the time, its my favorite place to visit. I am a personal fan of the Gettysburg KOA and Granite Hill. Round top and Drummer Boy are also nice, but they are a tad bit pricey. Artillery Ridge is closest to the battlefields, but isn't as nice as the others, but its not bad at all.

Has anyone stayed at the Lancaster/New Holland KOA? Seems like a very nice park but reviews vary during the time is was changing over to a KOA.

We have stayed there when it was Country Haven. If you get the premium sites on the hillside the scenery is beautiful. You can look out over the Amish Countryside. Across the street is an Amish Bakery selling bear claws and donuts on Friday and Saturday mornings. The male owner is friendly but the female owner is all business and has little time for small talk(a polite way of saying that she is a bit short with customers). They converted over to KOA last year. Give it a try. I do warn you that if you have dogs, you will get a lecture from the female owner that the dog cannot bark and do not leave it unattended in the RV. We have camped there several times over the years and enjoy the scenery and the quietness of the campground. Also, there is no pool it caters to the over 50 without children crowd. Not sure if this will change.

We live just out side Gettysburg and camp at Twin Grove RV RESORT. Close to Hershey and Lancaster about hour and half to Gettysburg. Great CG our club has had three rallies there.

Anyone stayed at Jellystone South of Lancaster? Is it worth the crazy $115.00 a night fee?

Overrated in my book. We were there in 2013. The water park is geared for more younger kids. We won't stay there again. I can drive to Frontiertown in OC MD and get a better bang for my buck (it's actually cheaper).

Yep, and that's not even "holiday" rates...
