They have a few grass-fed Jersey cows and milk them twice a day. Since the milk from their cows is sold on their property, they are allowed to sell it raw. From where you are, it would take about ten minutes to get there, depending how slowly people are driving on Route 340 between Bird-In-Hand and Intercourse. If you are interested in knowing where this store is, let me know and I will send you a PM with their information and directions.

Actually, Gidyupgo stumbled upon this store while on his way to the hardware store I told him about.

I sure am interested, I like to make my own butter. I sure would very much like to know where it's at. I need to find a hardware store where I can get some JB Weld for my fuel tank.

I sent you a PM. The amazing Amish hardware store, Gideon King Hardware is basically on the same property as the grocery store. It is just one road farther up from where the grocery store is.

If you need propane and you have bottles, bring them along and fill them at the hardware store for 35 cents a pound.

I went by the hardware store and wow did they have a lot of stuff, just not what I needed. My extra fuel tank leaks a little and I need JB Weld for steel tanks but the Walmart I went to did not have it. I'll try another Walmart tonight. I wish I had stayed a week up here, oh well there's always next year

Nope - you'll have to settle on the English things. You'll find all of the tourists at the Tanger and Rockvale outlets on Route 30 on Sundays. Cracker Barrel gets pretty busy.

Hope you have a great time there. My dads side of the family is from there and many still reside in Lascaster area. It is a wonderful place to visit. Amazing how they live compared to the rest of the country. Will be bringing my family there in October to camp. We visit Dutch Wonderland for my son's birthday. Anyway, travel safe.

It is amazing that the Amish live so good, how they get along without credit cards is beyond me. Seems like to me when I see them pay for something it's always in cash. And the Amish have such a good work ethic, they is no way they can get along as good as they do without Uncle Sam. They must have a money tree. I think they all must have at least two jobs. I don't know how they get along so good without a hand struck out waiting on Uncle Sam to fill it. How the Amish do that is beyond me

Spock,

They work from dawn to dusk from a young age, and live very simply. There's a lot to be said for their lifestyle, and lessons there we could probably all benefit from.

They don't need Uncle Sam. Their land and houses in most cases were paid off about 100 yrs ago. They don't have car payments and don't have to buy gas. They don't have cable bills. They don't have Verizon bills. They don't have electric bills. They don't have a Starbuck's habit. They don't buy Tommy Hilfiger clothes or any of that other crap over at the outlet stores. They don't buy their kids Air Jordans.

The Amish own some of the most beautiful and largest houses on the east side of Lancaster County. Heck, most of their garages put my house to shame.

Any recommendations of a good Amish place for breakfast in the Lancaster area?
