Pics of 1st 2012 camping.

We broke out the TT and went to Reed Bingham State Park in SE Georgia this weekend. Beautiful weather with temps in the 70's during the day and high 30's at night.

The first 3 are around the park and the last is a very unique Geocache we found which made us laugh.

I'm jealous that you have already been out in 2012. It was near 70 today in the Kansas City area but I know if I pulled the TT out of winter storage it would snow within 24 hours! Enjoy your weather.

"Unique" is the right word on that geocache. How long did it take for your heart to start beating normally again?

Thanks for sharing the pictures. It gives me something to look forward to. We did a little driveway camping last weekend but it's not the same.
Especially without any functioning plumbing

The weatherman threatened rain for all weekend and around Wed they changed it to no rain, thankfully.

Edjunior, you would think by the size it would have been easy, but it took a few minutes to find. I heard my wife gasp, then start laughing. It was one of the better Geocaches we have found.

cfsoistman, driveway camping is great practice and with no plumbing your practicing conserving water too

The turtle is a Geocache, which are containers that people hide and you use a handheld GPS to hunt for them. There are now over 1.4 mil of these worldwide This Geocache is a turtle shell someone found and stuffed a plastic alligator into the empty shell. The name of the Geocache is "Shell shocked".

What do you do with them when you find them, and how long has this been going on.

When you find a cache you usually just sign the log thats in them. Then you go to www.Geocaching.com and log the find. Some geocaches have items in that you can trade for (equal or up), but usually the trade items rapidly decrease in value to the point of being nothing but junk. I think it started in 2001. We found our first 10 using a car GPS, then upgraded to a Garmin Legend and now we almost always use our IPhones. If you have a smartphone you can download an app for a fee. It's a lot of fun, in a geeky sort of way. All Ga State Parks support Geocaching. We found 6 in Reed Bingham this past weekend.

Sorry to say if my wife had found that thing there would be no log to sign because she'd have hit with a stick until there was only turtle shell and plastic left.Sounds like a neat game and yes we are jealous of the weather you have.

Lol! It is fun.

Don't be jealous, we pay for it in the summer when it's 102F
