May have already posted this, but we stayed at "Up The Creek"

Enchanting - Review of Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, TN - TripAdvisor

And yep, it's all it's cracked up to be. Small (35 spaces) close enough to the strip to be very convenient, yet off the beaten path enough to be quiet and peaceful.

Two mountain streams down each side of it...deep enough to fish, shallow enough for kids and dogs to play in....very pet friendly.

If age is a state of mind, and I've lost my mind, I'm AGELESS, right?
Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around:
Flagstaff 5er 2014 8528 IKWS, Platinum Package, Regency Interior "Buffy"
F250 Super Duty 2013 Tuxedo Black "Biff"
Days camped 2014: 30

We have always been fond about staying in townsend - yeah it is "over the Mountain" from Gatlinburg/Dollywood and so forth but it is SO nice and much more relaxed that the hustle and bustle of the larger cities - and, when we want to go there, it is just a 20ish min drive. OTOH, you are not 2 miles from the entrance to the Great Smokies!

We stayed at the KOA in Townsend 4 years ago. Many years ago – probably 20 years ago – stayed at a campground on the edge of Pigeon Forge going toward Gatlinburg, but I don’t remember the name of the campground. It was a nice place and the trolley stopped there and the campground store was in the front on the main drag.

We love Tremont in Townsend. My husband has been camping there for over 30 years and we go back every year!

Very nice pool area and laundry facility. It is two blocks off the strip so you are close enough to catch the trolley right at the campground and I was surprised how quiet it was. I think the sound of the river must be a great buffer for traffic noise. Several campers would throw in their innertubes and float down a 1/4 of a mile and then walk back up and do it all over again. I saw a couple of people fishing as well.
We drove through the Pine Mountain campground because we have friends that have stayed there. It is very nice and clean -all paved sites. There is a very small creek that runs through it, but I was turned off by the lack of trees.
Be sure to check out the Red Rooster for breakfast.
I'll second this one. Great sites, no problems.
