Pittsbugh area campgrounds

Planning a trip next week to Indiana to visit relatives. Will stop in pittsburgh for 1-2 nights to visit my brother. Has anyone stayed at campgrounds around Pittsbugh? Will rent a car to drive to city. Leaving from NJ. Thanks

We use Fox Den near New Stanton about 20 minutes east of the Pittsburgh exit. Nice pull thrus and not far from the exit. Not sure about a rental car in the area.

Same here. I'd stay there again.

Is your brother in the city or outside of it? There are a lot of campgrounds north, and a couple south of the city that may be more convenient depending on his location.

Coming into the city from New Stanton takes a lot longer than 20 minutes, and you would be coming in from the Parkway East which can be a nightmare any time of the day.

There is a KOA in Washington, PA, right off I-70 about 30 minutes south of Pittsburgh. I've never stayed there since I live here, but it's another option for you.

Safe travels.
