we went to Southernmost point because the wifey hadn't been there before, and along the way, we stopped at a few other sites just to check them out for future visits, and the best one I could see was 30 miles south of Key Largo at a place called Fiesta Key RV Resort.. reviews didn't look good, but the site was actually pretty nice, and a couple people I talked to said they loved it.. so who knows.. think I'll try it anyway.

Appreciate the Keys...

...and understand why we are able to simply drive there rather than swim...before your next trip, read Les Standifords "Last Train To Paradise"...the story of how Henry Flagler opened up the Keys (and Florida) to the masses. Super interesting history lesson.

Beach Front Sites

This one is on my bucket list. It is in Destin, FL and has sites that are actually beach front. Looks very pretty but they seem to be a little close together. RV Sites Destin Florida Camp Gulf

Camp Gulf

We have stayed at Camp Gulf a number of times over the past few years and at one of the sites right on the beach. While they are super and it's a great experience being RIGHT ON the beach--you are correct, the sites are VERY tight. Be careful not to get a site next to the "public access" waking area--you'll have people coming and going on your site.
One thing that I was worried about before our first visit was ho the heck I was going to dump the holding tanks. We had reservations for a week and even under the best of circumstances, a week is too long to not dump them. We found out that the "honey wagon" will come connect to your unit for $10 and take care of that concern. Use the service once or every day if you want.
Oh--they also have a limited number of golf carts for rent but need to book ahead ($$$$).
We're headed back the middle of next month for a week--tight spaces and all, it's a super resort and the beach sites are a knockout! Have fun.

I miss the Keys. We haven't been since 2011, and this place is definitely on the list for the next visit, whenever that might be.
