We are hoping to be there as well. Don't know what to expect. If you've been - any advice would be appreciated.

Our first time too. We booked at site at Killens Pond State Park right up the road. Depending on the weather I did not want to get stuck in the field.

Are you camping there?

I was planning on just staying there. I figure it would be like tailgating at PSU, and just hope for no rain.

From what I have read is they cover the dirt field with chopped up corn husks compared to having a grass field at Penn State.

We tailgate at PSU also. We stay in the over night lot.

Nothing like tailgating in Happy Valley. I'm headed up for the Wisc. game with some buddies. Also took the family up for the Ohio game Labor Day weekend. It was good to see the RV lot full. We have 2 young ones and it was their first game. Despite the loss - awesome weekend.

Maybe we'll see you at the pumpkin chunkin. Look for the Georgetown with the PA flags and orange FRF sticker. Ill buy you a beer - haha.

The equivalent in our area occurs on the Labor Day weekend. This year, the winning toss, by a trebouchet, threw a 60-pound pumpkin 1300 feet.

Plan on large crowds mostly on Sat. they have even had to close enrtry some years as they were filled to capacity. If the weather calls for rainr it could get messy, the Yogi Bear campground is also staying open for this weekend incase anyone needs a place to camp.
