Questions on route, please
Finalizing our Key West trip next month. Thinking of making St. Augustine a stop over for a couple of days. Has anyone been to Anastasia State Park? And if so, thoughts? Then going from there to Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo for one night before our final destination at Blue Water Key. Would that be too far of a drive for one day? Thanks

It's supposed to be a nice CG. I tried to camp there a couple times, but they were always booked up. You may want to call and see if you can even get reservations.

I ended up staying here www.brynmawroceanresort.com. It's on the beach and the pool is nice, but the sites are small. I'd rate the CG average overall.

Yes, I was - lots of questions in the one post! Sorry. Have you been there? Reviews look good.

Driving from St. Augustine to Key Largo would not be too much of a drive, IMO. We drive from Tampa to Key Largo in one day easily. It may take you longer than you expect, especially once you get south of say around Jupiter. That's where congestion will start to pick up. But it's not that long of a haul.
I've never been to Anastasia State Park. However I have been to St. Augustine several times, and we love it there.

Yes, everytime I've wanted to stay there it was always full and that was calling several months ahead. I've heard it's very nice though.
St. Augustine is one of my favorite places to visit.

Hi Debbi!
We have not camped at Anastasia but have driven thru a couple times.
Sites tend to be slightly cramped but I think you're "little" motor home
would fit many of them.
I just for fun checked the FL camping site-
Welcome to Florida State Parks
And punched in a range of dates in May at the reserveamerica website.
You can get in Anastasia but you will have to move a time or two as
site open dates are all over the map with 2 to 5 days open on different ones.
Depending on when and how long you want to stay it looks doable at
present time but sites are filling up fast!
Good luck in your trip!
If you do make reservations at Anastasia drop a line here just because
I'm curious.

Nothing available at Anastasia that will fit a 24 ft rv :-(. Oh well, might just do the Tampa route to KW. Did get reservations at John Pennekamp for one night.

You're right! I didn't include a length in my search.
It looked like if you had a small trailer/pop up or tent you had several
choices but when you add the 24 length it came up blank.
It's been a few years since we visited and I did say it looked a little cramped
