Another Route 17 to 81 vote

If you want stress free, this is the way to go. We live north of Harrisburg, Hershey area and now use this route exclusively when picking up 95 below D.C. regardless of destination or pulling camper or not. It adds about 22 miles to the trip but it is the most relaxing 22 miles of driving you will ever experience knowing you are missing the mess that is 495. Daughter lives in Virginia Beach so we go there at least twice a year by car and pull camper at least once a year to either the Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, or Florida.

Let me say what a great ride that was. 95 up 17 to 66 and then 81. A little construction traffic but let me say no stress. 4 and a half hours wasn't bad compared to the "what could have been" around DC.
Now my morning wake up picture.

Great to hear you made it OK. That looks like a great site... So now I would like to request some site numbers for that campground. We are Hershey Park season pass holders and try to get there often. We've stayed at the other KOA (a nightmare experience... We'll never go back) and at the Hershey Park Campground (awesome park but hard to get reservations). Any help would be appreciated. Post here or PM.

If you like craft beer and have time. Check out the Troegs brewery in Hershey. Hollywood Casino is right there too.
