Richmond VA to Luray

So, as the title states, which way would you go? 64 to 340? 95 to 17 and take a bunch of back roads?
Just looking for least stressful drive. Help a brotha out!! Thanks!

What is your goal? To get there fast or to take the scenic route?

We live just off I 81 near Staunton, and have taken 340, 11, and I 81 up to Luray. No real time saver any way you go. My 2 cents...I 64 to I 81 and north to Luray.
11 and 340 are a bit more slow paced, but 2 lanes all the way except where 11 runs thru Harrisonburg.

My goal is not beat the crap out of my truck!! Last time a buddy and I came home from Hershey and he went 17, ended up puking his 6.0! My 6.4 was fine.
So, just trying to not tax his truck. Lol.

Having made the trip from Winchester, VA to Richmond SEVERAL times over the years, I'd do I-64 to 340. I-81 is so truck laden anymore, I try to avoid it as much as possible.

We took 81 to 66, then 340 to luray. Staying at KOA. Definitely a casual drive on 340, appears recently paved. It's raining, but who cares!

Thank you for the input!! Convinced my bud and his wife to just follow me next Friday. Staying at Outlanders... visiting caverns, skyline drive and I'm sure wineries/breweries.

why are so many RVers scared of 81? It has a lot of trucks because it's a good route for towing. Guess what we are all doing?

The only time 81 really sucks is the day after Thanksgiving it's a 2mph parking lot
