Royal Coachmen, Nokomis, Fl

just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with the Royal Coachman? Activities, Shaded, all the questions we normally ask. Going down in December for the winter, curious what we can expect. Thank You

We will be spending the winter there for the first time. It was recommended by a fellow that DH knows. He spoke highly of it but I don't know any specifics. The pictures I've seen look like it has a lot of trees. Important to us was the dog park for our very sociable dog.

My copilot and I are headed down this winter for 6 weeks in February - March for the first time. Curious to hear more too. We'll be working from our RV, so any information about "workability" (WiFi, temporary work space, nearby Kinkos...) would be appreciated.

we're at site #17, stop in for a cold one, looking forward to meeting everyone. This will be our first time not only to the west coast of Florida but Rving. We have a condo near the space coast that we stay at in the winter months and giving all that up to do more traveling. Nervous but excited.

This will be our first time on the Gulf coast also and first time with the rv. We've stayed in the Disney area and the Space coast in condo and hotels but brother living in Fort Myers convinced us to try this area. In the past, we've traveled to Arizona in the winter (love Ariz.!) but it's 2200 miles one way vs about 1200 to Nokomis, FL. He says that it's not humid in the winter, we'll see! I know nothing about this campground except that my DH's friend said its very nice and all the online reviews are positive. RoverDover, I would suggest you call the campground with your questions. Call the 941 area code #, not the 800 #. You want to talk to a local person, not the regional reservation system.

I called and have a site number, but without a campground map, it doesn't mean much.

Anyone have a link/copy of the campground map?

I think you'll both love it; I do enjoy the trees, the spaces can be a bit thin but they're in a circle so they widen at the outer edge. I also like the access to waterways , great for canoeing or kayaking or fishing. Also wonderful pool area. Nice workout area. Love the local beaches. Nokomis is fairly small but lots of good stuff reasonably close.

RoverDover, here's a brochure that on page 3 or 4 has a site map.

Royal Coachmen is about a mile and half from my home. I have not been on the property but from the road it looks very nice. It is close to a lot of things: beach, Sarasota (15/20 minutes north), Publix supermarket, CVS, Walgreens, banks (Bank of America, Wells Fargo), post office, Walmart SuperCenter, hospital, medical/dental. Easy to get to from I-75. Get off at the Laurel Road, exit 195, bear to the right, campground will be down the road on the left. January to April best months. Be sure to try the Siesta Key beach. Enjoy.

I called late last week and Walley said that as of today, they have us at site 129A, however that since we were only going to be there for 6 weeks, it was likely to change.

I'll be glad to meet new folks, explore the area and try our hand at our first "snowbird working winter".
