Good one at Concord NC. Tom Johnson Camping Just out side of Charlotte. It' right near the NASCAR track and this time of year probably get a good size site. Later RJD

When are you traveling? The KOA in Fancy Gap, just off I77 opens March 15. It is a nice place for an overnighter.

I live close to 77 and looked up a few campgrounds this past weekend but nothing looked of interest to me. If you slide off 77 for a bit to 521, I recommend Andrew Jackson State park in Lancaster, SC. It's maybe 20 minutes off the highway and very peaceful. There are probably others more south of that area but I'm not familiar with them.

Good luck!

There is a KOA in Fort Mill SC, about 20 minutes south of Charlotte. It is right off 77 and is adjacent to a Publix grocery store. There is also a nice QT gas station across the street for filling up before you get back on the road. The campground itself isn't anything special and I would not make it my destination, but for a place to stop for the night while passing thru, it would work well.

Why not spend the overnight at a rest stop or Wal Mart, or for that matter almost any parking lot? That's what DW and I do. We always plan our trips with stop points to coordinate with highway rest stops in mind.

Good Sam gives you access to information on RV Parks and how they are rated. I'm not sure if you have to be a member to see how they rate parks. I'm a member and have found their reviews and ratings to be quite accurate.

We also stopped at the KOA in Fort Mill, SC. That was a nice place to stop for the night. Not far from the interstate.

Ebeneezer Park in Rock Hill SC, great little park, 10 minutes off of 77.

Personally, when I'm on a long trip I use Cracker Barrel, good food, free parking lot. That's my plan next month when we go to Disney.
