Any suggestions for campgrounds in Sarasota, maybe close to Siesta Beach.
We are in a 24' motorhome.

Thanks, as always!

Turtle Beach is great in winter ~~ we snowbird a bit farther away on the other side of Sarasota. If planning a winter trip it is not too soon to make reservations now.

Myakka River State Park if there's a spot that's open.

a little further down the road is Myakka River State Park... 3 separate campgrounds within the park... lots to do and look at within the park.

don't miss purchasing fresh fruit and veggies and deli products in Sarasota at

Detwiler's Farm Market
6000 Palmer Blvd
(941) 378-2727

May want to avoid Myakka during the rainy season. The sea breeze collision thunderstorms form almost daily here east of I75 from now thru Sept. Campgrounds west of the interstate will have less weather issue, flooding and mosquitos. There's a thunderstorm over Myakka right now.

i have a home on the beach south of venice. You are in the thunder and lightning capital of the US. Every day. Perhaps east of 75 would be better. There is a nice remodeled campground on River Road in Englewood and another on El Jobean closer to port charlotte. They are both encore parks.

No dogs allowed at Turtle Beach. Rambler's Rest in Venice is okay.

Gosh, thanks all for your input. We're exploring options! We have heard about the farmers market -- nice plus!

Happy summer! Be safe!
