September to Atlanta

Hi guys! Have a wedding in Atlanta in Sept. and DW and I are planning to make it a 10 day motor home adventure too. Planning on going through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN on our way to Lake Lanier, GA just north of Atlanta. Form Buffalo, NY, Good SAMs trip planner takes the majority of route down Rt. 79 through PA and below. Question, how good is Good SAMs route planner, or would I be better off using Google Maps or Msn?
