Shenandoah national park, Big Meadows campground

We are heading here in a couple days. And was wondering if anyone could tell us where the fresh water fill station is. We will be arriving after dark and didn't want to have to be searching all around. Thanks!!!

After you turn into the lodge and campground area @ Byrd Visitors center. Go straight about 1/2 to 1 Mi. to the first right and proceed straight approx 1/4 mi to the utility area on the left. Fresh potable water and dump station is are located here. Enjoy your stay. Big Meadows is one of our favorite places.

Byrd Visitor Center is located @ the 51 Mi. marker on Skyline Drive.

We visited this campground while driving skyline drive yesterday.

Question: We saw a lot of people in the field across from the entrance to this campground. They were all walking and looking down at stuff. Has anyone been here and seen that before? Where they on a nature walk or something???

Nice area. The temps up in the mountains were 10-15 degrees cooler. The air was nice and refreshing. The views from the overlooks along skyline drive were great.
