Hope you don’t get to see, the No-see-ums. Flying teeth raised in the south marsh land. Other than them, Savannah is fun.

discount

Forgot to add---Regarding the camp fees---you pay full price up front but if you qualify for the Senior Citizen Discount they will issue a credit for you. I do that every year at GA state parks.

Skidaway Park is a nice area. Quiet!
I lived in Savannah and would strongly advise caution.
The crime rate has gotten bad, be careful.
Stay alert and enjoy this beautiful city!
Happy trails

Love Skidaway

We have camped at Skidaway state park many times and love it. Quiet and clean, but close enough to Savannah for easy access. Also, love Savannah. Lots of history, beautiful squares, great food. If you have time, Tybee Island is nearby— Savannah's beach. Wide and sandy with best disability access we've ever seen. Have fun!

When we stop in Savannah, we always stay at Skidaway. It is a really nice place. In Savannah try River St Sweets, The Crystal Beer Palace, Wiley's Championship BBQ. We always drive into town and park at the visitor center. Tours leave from there and it is a good place to start a walk around town if you are so inclined. Be sure to ask for a map at the visitor center and walk through a few of the squares. Forsyth Park is worth a visit too.

Enjoy your visit.

Well it certainly seems like the positive reviews outweigh the negative ones. I'll try to remember to post my own review upon our return home

So just returned from my trip. Skidaway Island state park was a 3 day leg of a 5 week journey.
I loved this park. I'll only say that if you reserve a site in section 1, try for an odd numbered site, you'll be on slightly higher ground than the even Numbers. I was on site 16 and it was a wet 2 of 3 days. I'll also that the site did dry out fairly well.

Will definitely return, but wth bicycles in tow next time

Coney

Personally you could not pay me enough to stay there. To much shade and trees and a lot of sand. Later RJD

My site had opportunities to sit in the sun (weather permitting) or shade at all times during the day. The dand is why the site dried out o fast

But to each their own
