Just to throw my 2 cents in, we're staying at River Plantation in Sevierville in June. Want to see sights in Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains, but it will save us about 30-45 minutes drive time in and on the way home to Michigan. The park came highly rated by a recent RV magazine article and is at the south end of Sevierville. I'm figuring the drive south to Gatlinburg will be easier for day trips in the toad.

So sorry. Pictures are Up The Creek. You will enjoy it. Take your friend up on the easy way in. Lots of traffic.

We just stayed at Riverside in Sevierville.....nice, easy in and easy out.....rates were not bad....had the whole backside of park to ourselves this last week....then we just drove to gatlinburg and different areas from there......I try to stay away from gatlinburg during peak seasons......from riverside park to gatlinburg, this time of year took about 20 minutes......

We always stay at River Plantation. Great campground and reasonable prices.

How do these campgrounds compare to Cade's Cove in April? Will Cade's be crowded? No kids. Just wife and I. Looking to make our first trip.

I don't think the campground at Cade's Cove has electric or water. We like to stay in Townsend, the quiet side of the Smokies. No chain restaurants, tubing on the Little River, and close to the national park. It's about a twenty minute drive to Gatlinburg.

Riverside gets my vote too! We have stayed many times from one night to whole weeks and nothing but good times! One time I had a problem with my awning and the owner came by and said I will be right back with tools. That is big time helpful to me thus we often make it our choice to get away from it all.

I've seen the advertisements for Anchor Down. Looks beautiful, but they should use your pic....nicer than the one that they show.
