We are finally at a campground in Katy,Tx. for the night. This is a very nice campground with concrete roads and level concrete pads. The campground we stayed in last night was Poche's RV Park in Breaux Bridge Tx. with nice roads and level concrete pads. They had 3 large ponds on the property for fishing, a small pool and a splash area for kids. The ponds are stocked with many varieties of fish. The name of the campground here in Katy Tx. is Katy Lake RV Resort. Don't let the Resort name turn you off as the prices are pretty reasonable. I recommend either of these campgrounds to anyone in the area. We came through the Houston area on I-10 about 3:30 to 4:00 with no problems at all. I have followed on this forum for the past year about how bad I-10 is. I can only assume that most of it was highly exaggerated . I found one bad spot from Baton Rouge to where we got off in Breaux Bridge which I estimate to be about 20 miles of bad road. I did have a molding pop loose on a wall but it was not attached well in the first place. There was another bad area at the beginning of I-10 in Texas but not any worse than some of I-95 going through the southern portion of South Carolina. I know this will open up a can of worms but this is my opinion for what it is worth. We will continue our push across Texas tomorrow.

camper70, thanks so much for the pics and letting us follow along! We stayed at Poche’s back in December and really liked it. And I’ve also not found I-10 to be too horrendous (comparable to many other highways).

I was wondering since we are moving west should I move this post to Western USA or just leave it where it started. We are actually in Central USA now as we are half way across TX. I don't want to lose everyone who is following along. Any thoughts out there ? I also have a newbie TPMS question. My tires have a max cold pressure of 50psi. How much above that pressure can you run them after the tires heat up ? Is the cold temp the only one that matters. I would like to backup a little here and go back to Foley Al. I don't think I mentioned that we stopped there to try Lambert's Cafe. I was told about it by a co-worker. The food at this place is really, really, good. I would suggest anyone ever in that area to stop there to eat. It is located about an hour from the Fl/Al border on Rte 98. We have made our way to Kerrville TX. and are staying tonight at Buckhorn Lake Resort. This is a very nice campground and very reasonable for all that is here. I don't have much to report because we are just in travel mode right now.
