We traveled today to Pensacola and are based at Pensacola RV Park. This is a well kept park but not a lot of amenities. I don't need the amenities just full hookups and good wifi. I don't have any ideas for what to do here. I hear the Naval Air Museum is the big attraction but not really my big interest. We will probably visit some of the Gulf beaches tomorrow. We had intended in stopping at Falling Water State Park on the way here but was told the waterfall was just a trickle so we bypassed that. The weather has gotten a little warmer the past couple days but it still gets really chilly after the sun starts to go down. I'm still looking for warmer weather.

If you are still in Pensacola you need to go to the Land Shark And order a Hurricane. They make the best... and take a ride to Fort Pickens. Pretty interesting.

Jim which Windy are you referring too?

Thank You crusader 816 for the info. We are here for one more today. You would not believe how much I have been looking forward to a good hurricane. The only place I know to get a really good one is Pat O'Brien's in the French Quarter. We weren't planning on stopping in New Orleans . Been there done that. We will take your suggestion on Fort Pickens.

We followed the advice of crusader 816 and visited Fort Pickens in Pensacola today. this was a very interesting fort built in the early 1800's as a Revolutionary Fort. It was also repurposed as a Civil War Fort and later as a military fort in the early 40's to defend the coast. The fort is also located on Gulf Shores National Seashore. The beaches and the dunes were beautiful even on a cloudy day. The Gulf had more wave action than I expected to see but it was a little breezy. The sand there is so white. We forgot to get the camera ouWe will continue our way west in the morning. We may stop in Mobile Al. to see the USS Alabama if it is not raining .
