Started Jack & Joan's Epic Road Trip

We finally started our first Epic road trip. We left home Monday about 2.5 hours behind what I was hoping for and made it to Ashland Va. to Ameri-Camps for the night. Tuesday morning I woke up with a floater in my eye so we had to find an Opthamologist to examine my eye to rule out any serious problem. Nothing serious yet but I need to find another Doctor in a week to have it checked again. This took another two hours of our drive time. We are spending tonight at RVacations in Selma NC. They are calling for snow in this area overnight so don't know if we will hit the road in the morning or not. It was 47 degrees when we got hear but is suppose to get colder overnight. We will post updates frequently if anyone is interested.

Cool. We set out about this time in 2012 for our "One Lap of America". 300 days on the road, 41 States, 27K miles.

Memories that will last as long as we do!

Safe travels!

Following with loads of envy.

And, one suggestion that if you haven't already, load the app Windy on your cell phone.

I use Windy to see what winds I'll face on my chosen path and to sometimes alter my path to avoid unfriendly weather.

We stayed at RVacation campground several times and the people there are very nice. This last trip down on the 2nd of January we couldn't get our propane to work and the guy solved our problem and saved us a lot of money. If you don't feel like cooking supper go to Grandson's buffet in Smithfield. If I remember right it was the next exit down on I 95 and very easy to get to. Fantastic food and cheap. Safe travels!
