Paying to use public roads.........just amazes me. Especially when it doesn't go towards the roads.

Oklahoma, the Muskogee Turnpike was built with that money. I get that. But paying to go across 412, or I-135 in Wichita. That torques me.
When did I 135 become a toll road in Wichita? I know I 35 is. I avoid toll roads also will take another route as I did to get to Goshen last year. At least now in GA you have a choice to pay or drive free on the new tolls they are building. Later RJD

Well....I thought it was/is I-135. In Wichita I can't go on to I-70 by going north and just stay on I-35.......or if I can, I haven't! It gets on I-135, and it's toll......

And if it's not I-135 and I'm wrong (83rd time today), then it's I-35 that is toll.

One of 'em is. I thought it is 135.......

If it truly went to upkeep, maintenance, I'd swallow hard and do it. But all it ever goes for is unattendend orange barrels........

And those are not even the same weight classes that are used for registration purposes in PA, they are unique to the turnpike.

Between pa and NJ they no longer even have toll booths. It is either ezpass or they send a bill to your registration address each month.

I used to live in Illinois and had the Illinois EZ Pass. When I retired to Myrtle Beach, I kept the EZ Pass for several reasons. One, in Illinois with the EZ Pass you pay 50% of the posted toll. Two, I have found that it is accepted in many states. I'm not sure if the reciprocating states offer similar deals/discounts for using the EZ Pass. Three it is a lot easier using the EZ Pass than throwing money at the basket, missing and having to get out and try finding the errant coins on the ground in the.dark.

Pa should pay people to use the turnpike. Add I-80 to that. The roads there really suck. Once a year they rob me on 60-- tpk extension of about 16 miles.

I also have the Epass/Sunpass, but having come from Delaware, I have the EZpass as well.

Local newspaper had an article about the Sunpass linking up to EZpass sometime in the future, but its not ready and may not be for awhile.

On our trip north in may, we paid $24 to cross the Maryland Hatem Bridge over the Susquahanna river on I-95. This is ridiculous, we were in a pickup towing our fifth wheel with two axles. It just does not compute that it should cost that much to cross a bridge, that's all I'm saying!

Well don't shoot the messenger - I read an article last week, as of Aug 1, PA turnpike tolls are going up. I don't remember how much, but they are going up.

Yup... they let you for free but you have to pay to get out!

Always wondered about that.

I have an NC Quickpass which is compatible with EZPass. It supposed to be compatible with SunPass and PeachPass. I travel the East Coast pretty regularly and so far it has worked at every toll booth I have gone thru. Saved my bacon when I was up in Boston, due to wrecks and wroad work we couldn't get where we were trying to go, went over the same toll bridge 3 times trying to get around the mess, I would have been out of cash by then.
