Has anyone visited the Stone Mtn. park east of Atlanta recently? Camped 20 yrs. ago always enjoyed the park. Planning a trip in June this year don't know how much its changed. Any recommendations, sites etc.
Ted, I do not know how it is now.
We use to camp on the lake their, from 1961-1964, with a church group of us kids. Was nothing but a beach with sand. Look under RV Park Reviews.
We camped there two summers ago in June. The sites in Loops F and L were all pretty good. The lay of the land has the land falling from Campground road to the lake. Many of the sites on the uphill side of the road were cut into the bank and the ones on the lake side were pushed out or fill material and didn't have much room. Also be careful with the pull through sites that appear to be loops off the road on the map. They were more like a wide spot and really pretty close to the road.
