Summer vacation Boston, MA area

Any good family oriented campgrounds in the greater Boston/Springfield, MA area? I have 2 kids (7/2) along with wife and a dog. Would like to be within driving distance to mass transit to take train into Boston for day trips. Open to any suggestions....

Maple Park in Carver/ Wareham Mass....Between Boston and Cape Cod. Lots and lots to do and see in the area. We go every year for a week or two. But your kids won't want to leave!

I found Normandy Farms, a little pricey but looks like a very nice place. Anyone ever been there??

Normandy Farms is great! The Boston Cape Cod KOA is a nice park easy to the Cape and easy to Boston and more affordable. Enjoy your trip to Boston.

Sunsetview RV park in monson was enjoyable for us. A lot of seasonal sites. Seemed to be things going on for family. I was working so I didn't go to anything. The owners were very nice and worked with us a lot. Easy to get to the pike. We talked about a trip to Boston but never did it.

Boston area

We stayed at a really nice place right down the street from Gillete Stadium. I think it was Normady farms in Foxboro,we would drive to tram station then get off in Boston. Rv park had things for kids to do and was clean. Also visited Plymouth, and Rhode Island. It's a central location for moving to different locations.

Another vote for Normandy Farms. You will need to book early because it is one of those places that gets 100% full.

Thumbs up Camping in Boston area

Last summer we had a reunion of friends at Minuteman Campground in Littelton, ?MA, just outside ?Boston. Easy to get to from the turnpike and nog too far from a "T". (Train into Boston). Very nice, clean park and bathhouse. Laundry, pool, propane and activity room available. Lots are good sized and shaded. Would definitely return.

Can not go wrong with Normandy Farms. Great place. It is just down the street from Gillette Stadium, so don't plan on arriving or departing on a game day, even preseason games.

We stayed at the Boston/Cape Cod KOA summer of 2014 and had a great trip. Close to transit and the campground folks were very helpful with that. It's also close to Plymouth and Plimoth Plantation. The kids in our group really enjoyed Plimoth Plantation.

Oh, I forgot about that one. I absolutely love Pine Acres! So much to do there! It was a little pricey after paying extra for the 3 kids and 3 animals, but totally worth it! It is one of my favorites!

Pine Acres pool looked really nice. I ended up booking Normandy Farms. $500(full hookups) for July 4th week which I didn't think was outrageous. I'm sure the place will be packed....

I've seen other campgrounds that are almost $700 for the week. Things are pricey at times. I'm justifying it because this will be my families big vacation this year(usually go to the beach). This year we are incorporating some history on top of a baseball game and maybe even one of those duck tours where they drive into the river oh, and a day at six flags New England

Just booked today. The person on the phone was very friendly. This is the longest we have been camping(only been "camping" 1.5 years). So hopefully we survive....

Take the duck tour. Watching them drive in Boston is almost as much fun as the river part. Sit up front and volunteer your 7yr old to drive it on the river
