Sunday ~ I-4 or I-10 East??

Leaving Sarasota after 2 months heading to spend time in Savannah. I-4 would save time and miles but is it worth it pulling a 5er?

In my experience...no way, especially this week in Orlando. There is a constant traffic jam. 75 north to Ocala, 301 north to 10 and 10 east to 95. The only way to go.

Thank you ~~ I=10 it is. Are there truck stops for diesel on 301? Is it 4 lane or 2?

Large truck stop at 301 and 10, gas and diesel at numerous places along the way. It is 2 lane sometimes and 4 lane others. Not a lot of traffic though. Two or three towns like Starke, no big deal though and its a nice drive in Florida horse country.

Thank you! That sounds great. It is next to impossible to get into most gas stations with the 5er so use truck stops nearly all the time. Not in a huge hurry, looks to be about 7 hours from this CG to the next. The only ugly part is it looks like rain here to start out in.

I4 is a soup sandwich. Don't do it. Check out River's End Campground, on Tybee Island.

I agree completely. Would drive 200 miles out of the way to miss Orlando.

my 2cents once on 301N to 95N.
Bypass I10E and stay on 301 n thru Baldwin to Callahan go straight @light on 200 to 9511mi total distance about 31-32 mi. avoid Jacksonville.
good fuel stop in waldo don't speed.I use the last pump on end.you will see truck exit.
Construction on I10 has caused many accidents and traffic backups. expect traffic @I10.
I use this way quite often and avoid I10and 295beltway.

Thanks. Y'all made the decision easy. I have not been on I-4 in decades, never been on 301. I-75 is usually busy ~~ busy enough combined with local traffic this is my last trip to Sarasota. There are other places to spend winter in FL.

Myself , I would go north on US 98 , all the way to I-!0 . Once north of Tampa it is a beautiful drive thru olde time Florida . Instead of I-10 I would also consider US 84 thru north Georgia . I hate Interstate hiways !!!!!!

Agree completely, drove this route to Amelia island last year. Nice new empty highways once you make 2 turns in Baldwin. Much less traffic than I10 and Jacksonville beltway , especially it you will be passing thru around rush hour.

I would avoid Orlando but if you do go that way, use the tollway around it to avoid the mess.
There are some very nice two lane highways to use also. Very rural.

Orlando I-4 a 6 year construction

Do not take 429 around Orlando, it ends in dirt! not finished. 417 will get you around to St john river and I-4 then to I-95 Daytona (6 lanes)
