Tampa, Fl campground recommendations

We are planning a trip to Busch Gardens, Tampa and I would like some help finding a good campground for my family to use. We will only be staying 2 nights, but I want a place that is kid and pet friendly with full hook ups.

Thanks,
Bruce

Lazy Days if you don't mind a crowd. Hillsboro River SP is nice, but a little farther out of town.

Happy Traveler RV Park. Ok park, pool for kids, I store my TT there and nice people. Close to expressway and a few miles from Bush Gardens.

Thanks for the recommendations. Now to make reservations and (im)patiently wait for spring break to get here!

I stayed at Tampa East RV Resort for 4 months this past winter located in Dover, Florida. It is very nice but may be a little pricey for short term stays. I believe it is about $45 per night for single nights. It is very clean, excellent staff and has 3 pools. It is located just south of exit 14 on Interstate 4 between Plant City and Brandon and very easy to get to Busch Gardens, Disney World and most anything in central Florida.

Hey Bruce. We are heading to Lazydays, Tampa on Monday. Anything you want us to check for you?

Check out Bay Bayou RV Resort on Memorial Highway.
Closest decent place to Busch Gardens I know of. It's on the West side of Tampa so no traffic issues on I-4 or I-275 to deal with. 15-20 minutes to Clearwater Beach if you want to go there.
We stay there all winter, nice pool for the kids and very pet friendly.

When are you going? It's hard right now to get spaces. Snowbird season for a few more weeks.

Our favorite is Hillsborough River SP. It's only about 15 minutes from my house, but we'll go there for a weekend to get away. Easy to get to BG from there since you can avoid interstates.

Happy Traveler is also easy for getting to BG. More old fashioned, but my parents stay there often. We store our camper next door.

Lazy Days... you'll have to fight interstate traffic and it's rather sparse. Kind of like camping in a parking lot if you ask me.

Quail Run RV Resort in Wesley Chapel just north of Tampa was a great place the last time we stayed there. Been a couple years ago though??

We've made reservations at Happy Travel rv park and will be down there the first week of April. Thanks again to everyone for great recommendations, we'll probably check out some of the other places on future trips.
