Travel route to niagara falls ?

Maybe this question has been ask already---- I am planning my route from FLORIDA to NIAGARA FALLS RALLY. My question is the NY ST THRUWAY from the Pennsylvania State line on I-90, exit 90 (NY) to exit 57 (NY) approx 57 miles is around $11.00. Is it worth the $11.00 or is the HWY 20 (NY) worth taking that runs parallel to I-90 to avoid the toll. I have four axles and over 7'6" tall. (TV & fifth wheel)

When it comes to tolls, I'M CHEAP!

For people that live in the area or use this route of travel, what is your input?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

US 20 is used by trucks all the time to avoid the tolls. Also NY State Rt 5 parallels the Thruway and RT 20 and is used by trucks all the time too. You'll find dozens of wineries on either route too.

Is the Highway 20---

Next question: Lindy is the highway 20 in fairly good shape or is it rough and beat up with the trucks ?

And thanks for the info.

We have not been on 20/5 since last year. It was in great shape then. As stated there is a lot to truck traffic. There was a lot of construction on the 90.

Why not try the Rte 17 up to Watkins Glen NY? There's a decent KOA there. If you like wine, there's rte 14 & 114 around Seneca lake then head north to I-90 E direct Niagra Falls. You'll avoid most tolls and enjoy the scenery.
