Great. Something to look forward to.

Kennebunkport. Water temp probably in the 40s. Was sunny and 68 today. Tomorrow supposed to be rainy and low 60s. Have Portland on the itinerary.

Lighthouse

We went to Maine in September. It was gorgeous!
We took a bike tour and saw 6 lighthouses. It was fabulous!
If you get a chance, go to the Portland Head lighthouse. It is very cool. It is in a park. There is a food truck there with amazing lobster rolls!! And don't forget to try Captain Eli's blueberry pop!
Enjoy your trip!!!

Rofl!

Tate House built in 1755 for one of the royal mast agents (responsible for harvesting and shipping back masts to England for the Royal Navy), and Portland Head Light, commissioned by George Washington himself and built around 1790.

Don't want to disparage the campground publicly, but I don't see much special about it. Definitely just a well-maintained stopover. No biggie--the whole reason we're here is for the tour. Bus picks us up right in front of our campsite.

Can you post a link to the bus tour you used
We are going up that way in August.

Thanks

Chuck

I booked the tour through the cg itself: Black Bear CG in Florida, NY. You have to call them because they don't have online booking. There's also a KOA in the area that also offers tours that we were originally going to use, but they didn't offer one on the day we were going to be there, so we went with Black Bear. You have to call them as well to inquire since you can't book the tours online.

Ok, the rain finally let up enough to get a pic of our site at Balsam Woods. This is an absolutely stunningly beautiful area. The other two pics are up northeast of Moosehead, not of our CG (unfortunately). Still on the hunt for a moose.

Finally got to see our moose on the way back from Moxie Falls. We sat on the side of the road for about an hour and watched her eat, drink, and do other business. She was very beautiful. Tomorrow we head down east to Acadia NP.

Stop #6: Smuggler's Den CG in Southwest Harbor, ME, on the doorstep of Acadia NP. Very, very cool. Mount Desert Island is like 'Maine concentrated.'

Unfortunately, this is the eastern terminus of our trip. When we leave on Monday, we will start the long trek south-westward towards home, following a different route than we used to get here.

I like it. Full service, very clean, nice owners, and so very convenient to everything on the island. I went riding around on my bike to get a picture for you, only to discover I could see 93 from mine. Yours is very spacious and one site away from the pool, roughly across the street from the office and down two.

I rode through Seawall yesterday, where I originally wanted to stay and was not sad it was booked up. Plus DF can't do without hookups. The only CG I've seen that might be nicer is the KOA Oceanview, but it's more expensive.

One recommendation: skip the Southwest Market grocery store just a mile away (limited selection, expensive, crowded) and drive to the Hanneford's in Bar Harbor (bigger, cheaper, better variety).
