Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice RV park in Tybee Island, GA?

Tybee island

I use to stay at the City owned Tybee Island RV park until the city let it get completely out of hand. It is over priced, jammed into such a small space
that you can not open your awning. The management will put tent campers
right up against your RV. Even tho they say tent campers are suppose to be in the tent area. The campers will build a fire right next to your RV with
no regards to safety.

I stayed there two years ago, use to be at least 3-4 times a year. Never again will I stay in the city owned RV park.

I suggest a Savanna RV park.

Thanks Daisy. I looked at their website and it did not look like anyplace I would want to stay. Any recommendations in Savannah?

Jekyll Island Campground is one you might look into.

We have never had any issues staying at Tybee Island in the 7 years of camping there even with the turn over to city. Always had nice sites. Later RJD

We have stayed on Tybee at River's End (city park) three times in the past 5 years. Your experience will vary depending on which site you select. Here we are in 2012.

That's our first TT, a Sunline, sitting on site #136

Tenting has been relocated to the overflow area, the old tent area is now W/E. The sites are tight, but this is a "base-of-operations" campground. We just slept there. It empties out every day. The river beach is within a short walk. The ocean beach is a long walk or short bike ride. Huckapoo's (great pub) is two blocks away. Savannah is, however, 18 mi. away.

If seeing Savannah is your aim, I suggest Skidaway Island S.P. You'll be 15 mi. from downtown Savannah via the Truman Expressway. W/E/Cable sites nestled into a hardwood forest. There was a grocery store within walking distance.
We plan to stay at Skidaway on our next trip to the area and return to tour Savannah again.

I camped there once about 3 years ago and will never camp at that RV PARK again. I paid for a pull through full hook-up site when I made my reservations. I did get the supposedly pull thru site; I just had to use the lot behind me to get in (pull through the other lot to reach my site) and had to back out to leave. Could not clear the road side fence and the tree next to me when leaving total length of truck and trailer at that time was 53 feet.

The campers next to us where washing their unit and sprayed water all; over could not even sit out side that day.

Park was a trailer trash site as far as I was concerned especially with the price I paid for this site.

Just my $0.02

Probably too late, but I have stayed at Skidaway Island a couple times and love it. It is probably the most beautiful campground I have stayed. Lots of Spanish moss hanging from the trees.
