As you may have read, a tornado struck in Virginia causing significant destruction and the loss of several lives. The towns most affected are Waverly and Appomattox. Any RV'ers in the area may be able to assist by providing access to a place to rest, wash up or use the rest room, and with an onboard or external generator to provide emergency power due to significant power outages. This could be helpful to the local residents and also to first responders, relief workers and volunteers. The VA Red Cross office (
Virginia | Red Cross) may be able to direct you to the best location, but if available and nothing else you could show up on site and get directed by local authorities to where you might be able to assist. Red Cross will be accepting donations either through its general web site or a "micro site" may be set up. Many thanks!
