Visitors to New York state: Warning about Prescriptions
I'm a full-timer from Louisiana and visiting the state of New York. I have a recurring prescription for the treatment of high blood pressure. My doctor in Louisiana writes the prescription with 13 monthly re-fills. I pulled out of Louisiana on April 11th and got my prescription re-filled at a Walmart in North Carolina with no problem. I tried to do the same at a Walmart in Niagara Falls, New York, but was informed by the salesperson that if they filled it, they were required by New York state law to cancel out the remaining refills. So if I had gotten them re-filled, I would have had to have my doctor call in a prescription to walmart for the next month. When I asked the purpose of such a law, no one could give an answer.
Just letting ya'll know about New York and to ask if anyone knows of another state with such a law. Thanks in advance.
