We have seen the show in Branson MO a few years back so I guess its probably similar. I wanted to go and see the Hatfield and McCoy's show.
We will see.
Thanks
Both are nice with my preference H&M... but.. Dolly just bought The Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud, The Smoky Mountain Opry, the Comedy Barn, and Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Café from Fee/Hedrick Entertainment so it isn't going to be too much different anyway.

Thumbs up River Plantation is great!

River Plantation is a great campground. Easy access, spacious sites, concrete patios, picnic tables and full hookups. Stayed there a twice in 2018 (20 days) and plan on camping there twice this year as well. Friendly staff and very clean campground. Pool area very nice and there's a river on the backside where you can fish.

Highly recommend.

Glad to see all the recommendations for river plantation. we are headed there the last week of August!

our main destination is Gatlinburg, so some of the other suggestions were just out of the way, but i really want to head back sometime for anchor down. it looked great. I'm going to plan and see the other parks when we are there as im sure we will only do Dollywood once or twice and Gatlinburg the same in a week trip.

River plantation

We stayed for 5 days at River Plantation in October 2018.
Had one of the sites that backs up to the river, and we really enjoyed it! Nice and peaceful and had a large open area behind the sites between the campsites and river with fire rings. When ever we go back that way, will definitely stay there again!
Be sure to eat at Paula Deans while in the area. I figured it would be just an over hyped , expensive restaurant. The food was wonderful and the staff was great!
Hope y’all enjoy your trip!

We stayed at Pine Mountain RV Campgrounds. Address 411 Pine Mountain Rd in Pigeon Forge, Tenn Phone # 877-753-9994. A wonderful clean Campground. We had Site 3. $46.45 per night. It is just down the street from Dollywood and that is the reason we picked it. It is rated at 9/10/9.5 Campground I would stay there in a heartbeat clean and close to everytihing

There are a lot of great tips in this thread. As others have mentioned when there is a car show going on in town be prepared for horrible traffic jams. You might be stuck for an hour to go 1 mile.
The attractions are a lot like any other tourist city with the museums and dinner theaters. Take the 31 mile drive to Cherokee NC on the Newfound Gap Rd. It's a beautiful drive. We highly recommend Dollywood and The Island. You will definitely have a great time in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. We are going to see Dolly at the Grand Ole Opry on October 12th for her 50th anniversary concert.

If you don't mind driving about 20 minutes to Dollywood, Anchor down in Dandridge is the best in the area. you won't be disappointed. It is on Douglas Lake

Iggy,

There are a lot of places to visit in Pigeon Forge, 2 days are not near enough to see everything., but good luck. The Titanic is neat, plus we like to visit the Apple Barn, good food and lots of things to buy. We think the best time to visit Dolly Wood is during Christmas, their Christmas light display is the best we have seen

Have a safe trip.

Price isn't an issue but like to know which in town are nice and worth the visit.

Have you been at any of the campgrounds in town?
Were you happy on the nice sites and campgrounds?
What else did you do or visit in the area?

Thanks
We stayed at Greenbriar a couple of years ago. Very nice CG and amenities. Brand new bathhouse and the facilities are immaculate.

X2 on the Apple Barn, first place we visit. I normally buy a gallon of unpasteurized apple cider. The Apple turnovers with ice cream or apple dumplings
