West Virginia between Cincinnati and York, PA

West Virginia has been a hole in my RVing map for a long time. We are soon going to be traveling from Cincinnati, OH and headed to York, PA. I need to fill in 4 nights (Tues-Sat). To make it more challenging, I'm realizing that I'm now butting into Memorial Day Weekend (sarcasm: yippee).

Normally, I would stay just south of Pittsburgh. Somewhere like Fox Den Acres in New Stanton, PA.

BUT, I really want to fill in West Virginia. There is exactly 1 RV park on RVParkReviews.com for the Wheeling, WV area (that tiny little sliver of WV between OH and PA). And it gets pretty terrible reviews. It doesn't even show on the Allstays app.

Is there anything I'm missing? Other ideas?

Years ago we camped at several state parks, Pipe Stem and Blackwater Falls. Babcock state park was also nice, but I don’t know about the size of the sites.Make sure you go over the New River Gorge bridge and go to the visitor center. White water rafting on the New River is a lot of fun.

Iíll second the Wapocoma Campground. If you go, make sure you include a ride on the Potomac Eagle train while you are there. Runs from Romney to Moorefield or on the all-day trip, Petersburg.

Alright. I'm going to give this one a shot. I just spoke with the owner/manager/lady and she was super friendly and helped to make sure I had a site that would fit me.

We're pretty easy to please- give me a place to park, electric, and cell service and we're usually happy.

I liked these, but they were a bit further south than I wanted to deviate off of the highway.

Thanks for the tips. I've wanted to whitewater raft for years!
