OK. We stayed at the Happy Hills Campground and we found management to be very friendly and personable. We stayed in F7 which is a pull through FHU. I would characterize this campground as a bit quirky in that the seasonals/full timers dominated. They are the only ones who can use carts or 4-wheelers and they use them all the time. It was the off season so the pool was not open and the camp store was not stocked and kept weird hours. The grounds looked well kept but it was still early so vegetation was still sparse. It has a dog park which was enclosed but it used to be a horse corral so it is not pretty
It got the job done.
The road in was narrow and twisty but not a big deal.
We used the CG as a jump off for Berkeley Springs. As the crow flies the CG is less than 2 miles away but the river means you need to take a 12 mile round about way in. The town and springs are quaint and very interesting. Highly recommend Taris for dinner. We would go back but not for a long weekend. Perhaps a day trip.
