Where to stay

Need help. We are fairly new to camping far away from home. Our youngest daughter has never seen the ocean. We live in southern wv. Any one have any nice camp grounds from va beach to Myrtle Beach. That would be family friendly. Please let us know. We are looking at koa in myrtle now. Just let us know. Thanks

KOA Myrtle is not on the ocean. There are several campgrounds that are. Myrtle Beach Travel Park and Apache Campground are adjacent to each other in North Myrtle Beach. I have stayed at both but prefer the Travel Park. On down is Pirate land, Lakeshore, and a couple of others that escape me now. Further South is the Myrtle Beach State Park. All of these are on the ocean. It all depends on what you want to do and when you will be there. We go down there at least once or twice a year.

Several years ago we went to Myrtle Beach State Park and had a great time. Just a short walk to the beach.

We enjoyed the state park over new years and going back in June. Nice park, lots of trees and some nature trails to the beach.

Virginia Beach has no larger campgrounds on the beach.

Myrtle Beach Does have several on the beach. Pirateland, Lakewood, Ocean Lakes, Myrtle Beach Travel Park to name a few.

A lot of people like Huntington Beach State Park or Myrtle Beach State Park

We did Myrtle Beach Travel Park last summer and loved it! Apache CG down the road was not nearly as nice. Glad we did MBTP.
